Olga’s Obituary Pawtucket – Olga “Ollie” (Demty) Asermely Nicoletta, was born on November 27, 1918. A daughter of the late Fargalla and Nafeefa Demty, both of whom emigrated to America in 1911 and 1913. Ollie’s father, Fargalla, earned his Citizenship in 1920 at the age of 40, a proud moment for the entire family. They thrived in Central Falls, Rhode Island, enjoying friends and family until the early death of her father. In 1933, after the loss, hard times became more than just a phrase, it was a reality for Nafeefa and the children. Ollie had never forgotten those early years and the support from St. Basil the Great Church. Ollie leaves behind a sister, Mary Koussa of Narragansett and brother, Joseph Demty of Narragansett. She also leaves twin sons, George G. Asermely and his wife, Karen and Gerard A. Asermely and his wife, Marilyn, along with a daughter, Christine B. Maimoni and her husband, Philip and her youngest son, Thomas A. Asermely and deceased wife, Maria. Also, thru her second marriage she became mother to Andrew and Lynne Nicoletta both of whom she loved deeply and appreciated along with their children Sarah and Justin. Ollie was predeceased by her husband, George A. Asermely and her second husband, Salvatore Nicoletta, also her sisters, Sade Jajoura, Antionette Keough and her brothers, Charles, Sippe and Sam Demty Ollie’s love for her friends and the community of the St. Basil’s Church was deeply woven into her daily life and her fellowship with Fr. Joe as with most of her friendships, lasted over six (6) decades as she would say, “a wonderful man, a wonderful pastor.” Outside the home, she worked as a professional seamstress, creating custom window treatments, drapes, blinds and panels, etc. Also, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Fiberglass Credit Union and The Miriam Hospital Credit Union and thru her financial acumen and personality they flourished. Ollie leaves behind many friends, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of whom she loved and was so very proud. Being the matriarch of St. Basil the Great Church is a special honor she would have treasured most along with her family and friends. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a Funeral Liturgy on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Basil the Great, 15 Sky View Drive, Lincoln. Interment will be private. Calling Hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Memorial gifts to Saint Basil the Great Building Fund will be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to William W. Tripp Funeral Home, Pawtucket.
