COLEMAN, OLGA A., 95, passed away with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Rhode Island Hospital. Olga was born to Joseph and Julia (Czprynna) Kendrick in Connecticut in 1923 but spent most of her years living in Rhode Island. She graduated from Plainfield High School in Plainfield, Connecticut, where she was voted most popular by her classmates. After serving as a nanny for two young girls in South Bend, Indiana, she returned home to New England. She married Max Coleman of Detroit, Michigan, and spent the majority of her time raising four boys on Atlantic Avenue in Providence, Rhode Island. She worked numerous jobs in the retail and food industries before deciding on becoming a personal caretaker for families in Florida and Maryland. Olga was looked upon as a most courageous, generous, and hard working mother, family member, and friend. Her primary reason for returning to New England was to help financially support her family as her younger brother just entered Providence College. There was no task too difficult for her to accept and she never disappointed. She posted affirmations in every corner of her home and she worked hard to follow them. “Turn a frown upside down”, “follow the road less traveled”, “do it now” were just a few. She turned every head in the room with her beauty, style, and grace. She was a strong woman of faith and died peacefully in her sleep with family members around her holding her hand and telling her what a great battle she had fought. She is survived by three sons, Myles Coleman of Tiverton, Mark Coleman of Dennis, MA, and Matthew Coleman of North Port, FL; 8 grandchildren and a sister, Arlene Vuono of Kensington, MD. She was the mother of the late Michael Coleman and sister of the late Joseph and Frederick Kendrick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Olga’s Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington St., Coventry, RI. Inurnment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, West Warwick. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations Olga’s memory to The American Stroke Association (strokeassociation.org) would be appreciated. Guests in attendance are invited to the Cowesett Inn Restaurant immediately following committal prayers at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements by IANNOTTI Funeral Home, Coventry.
