Norma R. Snitchler, 92 of Jefferson, died peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Wellington Place of Fort Atkinson. Norma was born on March 6, 1927 in Jefferson, WI, the daughter of Otto “OJ” and Mabel (Kohlhoff) Werner. Norma was 1 of 8 children and her father was a farmer, landowner, and later started Werner Well Drilling Service. She attended St. Lawrence School in Jefferson. She worked at Borg Textile for many years and later work as a housekeeper, and also at the Jefferson Veterinary Clinic. Norma was a hardworking person with a strong will and an independent spirit. She kept a spotless home, enjoyed dining out and talking with her friends and family after work. She was a woman who knew how she wanted things done. She had a good sense of humor and a quick wit, both of which came in handy as a single mom. Despite this disadvantage, Norma was able to successfully raise her children and she was very proud of their accomplishments in life. She had a good heart and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her sons Kevin (Catherine) Snitchler of Edgerton and Gregory (Julie) Matsen of Fitchburg; 5 grandchildren; and siblings Ruth (John) Robinson of Johnson Creek, Joanne Sturms of Fort Atkinson, and David (Debbie) Werner of Jefferson. She is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends. Norma is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Chris, and siblings Lorraine Kobs, Eileen Trandel, Grace Huebner, and James Werner. A memorial service will be held at 6:00PM on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home of Jefferson with Chaplain Steve Steele of Rainbow Hospice presiding. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00PM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Rainbow Hospice.
