Norine Lee Nichols, 61, of McGraw, NY, passed away on Sunday, June 9 2019, at her home, while surrounded by her loving family. Norine was born in Cortland, NY, on August 12, 1957, the daughter of the late Russel Brown, Sr., and Pearl Beaumont Brown. A lifelong resident of the area, throughout the years she had been employed by Cortland Corset, J. Line Tog, and most recently by the McGraw Central School. She enjoyed spending her spare time sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She is survived by her sister, Kay Dimorier of McGraw; a brother, Robert (Sandra) Brown, Sr. of McGraw, and a close friend, Fred Haven of McGraw. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including her niece and caregiver, Lesa Williams of McGraw. She was predeceased by her husband, Joel Nichols; and siblings, Joan Cranson, Russell Brown, Jr., and Ray Brown. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or funeral service. A graveside service will be held at the McGraw Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Norine may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Services, 11 Kennedy Parkway, Cortland, NY 13045.
