Nita’s Obituary STEELEVILLE – Nita F. Alms, 86, of Steeleville, passed away at 9:44 pm, Friday, June 28, 2019, at Three Springs Lodge, Chester. Nita was born in Steeleville, Illinois, on October 7, 1932, the daughter of the late Ralph O. and Lonnie Ernsting Firth. She married Orville H. Alms, Sr. on February 19, 1955 in Steeleville. He preceded her in death in October 1, 2014. Nita was a Homemaker and was retired from Egyptian Telephone in Steeleville. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Steeleville and was active in various church and school committees. Nita is survived by children, Orville (Mary) Alms, Scot (Sheila) Alms, and Deb (Bruce) Hasemeyer all of Steeleville; grandchildren, Jared Alms, Alaina (Tim) Mevert, Brittany (Scott) Riggins, Jodi (Ross) Rieckenberg, Jacki (Rex) Conway, and Jason Hornberger and special friend, Jenna Mitchell; great grandchildren, Colsen and Makenna Mevert, Carter Riggins, Dalton and Emmi Rieckenberg, Sadie, Lila and Rex Conway, Kaylee Darnell, and twins, Kali and Kenedi Hornberger; and brother, Ben Lattina of East Carondelet, Illinois. Nita was also preceded in death by her Parents; and two sisters, Glyda Bollmann and Gertrude Gerlach. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Steeleville, with Rev. Kelly Bedard officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Monday and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until the hour of service.
