Mrs. Nelda Jo Chitwood, age 91 of Fort Payne, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Crossville Health & Rehab. Mrs. Chitwood was born on August 20, 1927 to the late Marvin & Lois Lister Gilbreath in the Chavies community. She was a member of Minvale Baptist Church. Funeral services for Nelda Chitwood will be 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Mtn. View Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 1 p.m. until the 4 p.m. hour of service. Mrs. Chitwood is survived by her Grandchildren, Kenneth Chitwood, Lisa Harrison, Michelle Roberts, Misty Gilbert, Jeremy Chitwood, Julie Martin, and Jennifer Bankston; Great-Grandchildren, Chase Williams, Erica Martin, Whitney Young, Derrick Chitwood, Brett Roberts, Miranda Strange, Jordan Chitwood, Candace Chitwood, Zachary Chitwood, Lilly Martin, Meg Martin, Harper Bankston, Jerzee Bankston, and Sam Bankston; Great-Great Grandchildren, Ethan Williams, Wells Chitwood, Layne Roberts, Quinn Chitwood, Catherine Williams, and Charlotte Strange; brother, Creed Gilbreath; sisters, Willeen Hulgan and Jean Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.
