Miriam W. Black, 87 of Goshen, died Friday, June 21, 2019 at 6:10 p.m. at Goshen Hospital. She was born January 18, 1932 in Elkhart County to Warren W. and Viola L. (Miller) Miller. She married R. Dilmon Black August 11, 1950 in Goshen; he died on January 7, 2009. She is survived by her 5 children Martha A. (Bob) Shearburn of Springfield, ILL, Richard W. (Barbara) Black of Antioch, TN, Wayne C. Black of Osceola, Donna L. White of Indianapolis, Jay A. (Shareen) Black of Millersburg, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a sister Mary Culp of Hesston, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband R. Dilmon, son Robert Dilmon Black Jr., siblings Luella Eash, Wilbur Miller, Ronald Miller and Roy Miller. Miriam graduated from Hesston College and worked at Goshen Hospital. She was a member of Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, Goshen where she was very involved in the Daycare Ministry even one winter making 100 caps for the children. Miriam and Dilmon volunteered at Greencroft working in the gift shop and she also made cover-ups for the other residents. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, knitting and working with her flowers. Miriam enjoyed getting together with her siblings to make music. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at all Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St. Goshen. Pastor Craig Garber of Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church will officiate. Burial will be a Clinton Union Cemetery. Memorial Contribution may be given to the Brenneman Daycare Ministry.
