Michael’s Obituary Michael T. “Earthquake” Foley, 52, of New Britain, husband of Laura (Chamberland) Foley, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford from Kidney failure. Born in Hartford, he was the son of Paul and Pauline Foley. Michael was a Bristol resident before recently moving to New Britain. He was formerly employed at Stop and Shop in Unionville. Michael was an advocate for Americans with Disabilities and the homeless. He assisted at Bristol’s soup Kitchen and was a volunteer with many organizations. Despite all of his illnesses, Mike never let anything get in his way. He had a zest for life and enjoyed it to the fullest. In addition to his wife Laura, he is survived by a brother, Paul Foley Jr.; two sisters, Patricia Sherwood and her husband Edward, and Cathleen Foley; an aunt, Denise Bacon and her husband Dennis Bacon; an uncle Thomas Foley and his wife Carole; an aunt, Esther Contois; cousins Peter Bacon, Rebecca Craighill, Christopher Foley, Joe Foley and Elaine Foley; and many close friends. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.
