Mary’s Obituary Mary E. (Donahue) King, 73, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Her beloved husband, Ernest E. King, predeceased her in 2013. Mary is survived by a family that thought the world of her, two sisters, Sheila Riendeau and her husband Roger of Tiverton, RI, and , Kathleen “Katee” Shepard, wife of the late George Shepard of Beverly Hills, FL; eight devoted nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; friends and neighbors at Canterbury Towers. Mary was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Joseph D. and Frances M. (Maston) Donahue, and has lived here all her life. She was so proud of her work in food service at Ad Care Hospital in Worcester, having previously worked at Clark University and the former Worcester City Hospital. Mary took her job seriously and made sure to always do her best. Mary, a cancer survivor, became very active in the “Relay for Life” Cancer Walk in Worcester, and proudly cared for all of the walk shirts and hats she collected over the years. She loved to have a good time and enjoyed “The Wonder of It All”, calling BINGO at her building, keeping up with WWE and Monday Night Raw, watching the Red Sox and Big Papi. She was a parishioner of Saint Bernard’s Church in Worcester. Calling Hours for Mary will be held on Friday, June 28, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be on Saturday, June 29, departing the funeral home at 9:40 a.m. in procession for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Bernard’s Church of Our Lady of Providence Parish, 228 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Interment beside her beloved Ernie will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
