September 8 1955 May 26 2019
Mary Cynthia Lara Gonzales was born In Shelly, Idaho in the fall of 1955, on the 8th day of September, to Lucia Ybarra and Paz Lara. She was known as “Cindy” to many people. She took her leave of this world on May 26th 2019 at the age of 63. Although she was born in Shelly ,Idaho she was raised in Texas and lived most of her life in Ogden, Utah. Over the years she spent some time waitressing in Texas but her real calling was as a mother and grandmother. She raised her family in Texas and Utah, always among extended family, and surrounded by love. Some of her hobbies included playing pool in local leagues where she stood out as real talent. She was full of life and always thought of others before herself. She had a special place in her heart for a loving, warm-hearted niece that was always in her conversations with family and friends. Even though they were separated by many miles- her “Deddy” remained one of the most important people in her life, as was evidenced by her tears, whether in person or when they spoke on the phone. She loved her “Deddy”. Even as health issues tried to stand in her way, it was her love and devotion to her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews that pulled her through until the next day. In her last moments when she finally rested, she left behind memories of joy and laughter, lessons learned through hardship and heartache, and a legacy of resilient women and men that lives on in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. While the hurt and sadness are unbearable. Comfort can be found in knowing that her suffering ended while she slept peacefully. She will always be remembered by her infectious laugh, her joyous smile and most importantly her beautiful spirit. Cindy is survived by her father, Paz Lara Sr., husband & siblings: Ray Lara, Luciano Lara, Jesse Lara, and Theresa Lara & her children: Lucy Zamarron, Joe-Louie Gonzales, Mikey Gonzales, Tovias Gonzales, “JJ” Reyes & Savannah Reyes. She is preceded in death by her mother: Lucia Lara; brothers: Ernesto “Neto” Ybarra, Paz Lara Jr., Gilbert Robert Lara; and sister: Kathy Lara.
