Crystal Falls – Marie Rose Mlinarcik, 96, of Crystal Falls, Mich. passed away June 27, 2019, at Iron County Medical Care, Crystal Falls. She was born August 5, 1922, in McAdoo, Penn. Daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Burket) Perykasz. Marie was raised in New York City, NY, from age one. After her high school graduation, she was the supervisor at Vanity Fair. Marie married John Mlinarcik on January 27, 1945, in NYC upon his return from overseas, serving in WWII. She was a life member of Crystal Falls VFW Post 2891 Woman’s Auxiliary. Marie enjoyed picking mushrooms and pinecones, assembling jigsaw puzzles, golfing, reading, knitting, and playing cards were some of her favorite past times. She is survived by three daughters Adrianne (Donald) Cheatham, Carol (Horrace) Cain, and Jean (Bruce) Forstrom; six grandchildren Jeff (Teresa) Seppala, Steven (Kerry) Seppala, Tim (Meagan) Phelan, Debbie (Tucker) Williams, Keri Garsomke and John (Kathy) Garsomke; and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded into everlasting life by her husband John in 1996; one grandson Nicky Waldo in 1974; one son-in-law Jim Waldo in 2015 and beautiful daughter Joann Waldo in 2016. Per Marie’s wishes a Catholic Mass was held at Guardian Angels Catholic Church with a burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Iron County Cancer Unit or the Amyloidosis foundation in remembrance of Marie’s daughter, Joann.
