Marie D. Layos, age 73, of Bloomsburg, died on Friday, June 14, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her family. Marie was born on Wednesday, November 7, 1945 in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Earl and Eva (Beaver) Dershem. Throughout her younger years, Marie attended the Bloomsburg area schools, and later graduated from the Bloomsburg High School in 1963. On June 26, 1965, Marie married her loving husband, Donald E. Layos. Marie was self employed as a cleaning lady. She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing yard work, and reading. Marie was a member of the Shiloh Bible Church, Almedia. Survivors include her beloved husband of 54 of years, Donald E. Layos; two daughters: Meredith A. Arnold and husband, Thomas, of Mifflinville and Madeline K. Schuster and husband, Kurt, of Milton; two grandsons: Garrett Arnold and Alex Arnold both of Mifflinville, and two sisters, Marion Dent and husband, Harry, and Connie Dent and husband, Frank, both of Bloomsburg, PA. Honoring Marie’s request, private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Allen Funeral Home, Inc., is honored to be serving the Layos family.
