McAllen, Texas On Monday, June 3, 2019 Maria Magdalena Pizana entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family at her home in McAllen. Maria was born on May 28, 1956 in McAllen to Julio Pizana, Sr and Andrea Olivia (Ruiz) Pizana. Maria was a life long resident of McAllen. Maria loved and enjoyed many things in life. She loved to read books, she loved butterflies, she loved your beloved Dallas Cowboys, and above all she loved her family. Maria worked throughout her life at numerous of places. She worked for Levis Company as a payroll clerk. Maria also worked for SMT Trucking Co., worked at the Palace Theater in McAllen, worked at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, and at the LRGVDC as a 911 addressing clerk. Maria Magdalena Pizana truly lived her life to the fullest. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Maria was preceded in death by her father, her husband Mr. Juan Jose Chavez. Left to cherish her memory are her children- Maria Esmeralda Chavez, Juan Jose Chavez, Jr., Audrey Rose Chavez; Siblings- Maria Luisa (Israel) Quintanilla, San Juanita Herrera, Julio (Teresa) Pizana, Olivia Adriana Pizana, Fabian (Patricia) Pizana, Jorge (Rita) Pizana; Also Six grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Rivera Funeral Home,1901 Pecan Blvd. in McAllen from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A celebration of life service will begin at 7:00 PM. Cremation services will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen.
