THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF LUCRECIA BATISTA SANDY HOOK – Mrs. Lucrecia Batista, age 69 of Sandy Hook CT, passed away peacefully at the Bethel Health Care Center in Bethel after an extended illness. She was the wife of Jose Batista. Mrs. Batista was born March 26, 1950 in Angola, Africa, the daughter of the late Augustinho and Rita Mateus. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved gardening, cooking meals and entertaining her family, relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. Besides her husband of over 50 years, Lucrecia is survived her daughters, Maria Fatima Warcholik of Chatsworth GA and Maria Lourdes Batista of Sandy Hook as well as her two granddaughters, Jessica Muller and Sara Sequeira. Lucrecia’s family would like to thank and acknowledge the dedicated staff of Vitas Innovative Health Care and Acuity Home Care for the love, care and comfort they shared with Lucrecia and her family throughout her illness. Funeral services for Mrs. Batista will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St. @ Southmayd Rd.
