Lloyd’s Obituary Lloyd Lawson, age 67 of Pineville, KY and formerly of Harlan County, departed from this life on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at the Harlan ARH. He was born in Lynch, KY on July 12, 1951 to Thomas and Doris Parris Lawson. Lloyd was a former Mayor of Benham, coal miner, sales representative for Keebler and Anderson News and also owned and operated Lawson’s Market at Clutts . He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army having served from 1968-1971 during the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Doris Lawson; one brother, Thomas Lawson Jr.; one sister, Gloria Diane Lawson; and one niece, Melissa Denise Cox. He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife of 35 years, Wanda Halcomb Lawson; children, Tammy Orick ( John Morgan) of McCreary County, KY, Tonia (James) Carroll and Tracy (Bobby) Rutherford, all of Cumberland; brother, Charles Lawson of West Virginia; sisters, Diniah (David) Bailey of Jasper, AL,, Darlene (late John) Monhollen of Lynch; special son-in-law, Brian Orick, of Mt. Sterling, KY; grandchildren, Blayne (Morgan) Rutherford, Brendan and Blake Rutherford, Amber Chappell, Aaron (Megan) Henry, Amanda Orick, Connor and Jordyn Byrne; great grandchildren, Tanner, Liam and Oliver Chappell, Tinley and Peyton Henry; sisters-in-law, Brenda (Randall) Bowling of Partridge, Melissa (Mike) Byrne of Georgetown, KY, and Dana Lawson of Daytona Beach, FL; brothers-in-law, Junior Halcomb, Larry Halcomb, and Cecil (Pam) Halcomb, all of Partridge; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; special friends, Joe Cox, Jean and Booby, and all his bingo friends; and a host of other family and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 7, 2019, between 5 – 7 pm with funeral services beginning at 7 pm with Reverend Jonathan Monhollen and Elder Glenn Cornett officiating and Military Rites by the Harlan Honor Guard.
