Lincoln’s Obituary Syracuse (Onondaga County): Lincoln E. Hopkins 69, of Syracuse, formerly of Albany and Cobleskill, NY, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Lincoln was born April 9, 1950 in Cobleskill, NY a son of Lincoln and Lottie Iris (Dart) Hopkins. He attended Sharon Springs School and would later work at Albany Medical Center in the kitchen for 25 years before retiring. He enjoyed his TV time, tinkering with wood, clocks and other projects to pass the time along with attending PACE. He married Frances (Wayman) Hopkins on March 14, 1983. She predeceased him on November of 2007. Survivors include his siblings; Russell (late Cathy) Hopkins of Houston, TX, Jeffrey (Brenda) Hopkins of Amsterdam, NY, and Teresa Hopkins, of Cobleskill, several nieces and nephews including his caretaker Melissa Conway, a cousin Mabel (Harry) Larkin, close friends Alice and Brian Taylor and David Klien. He was predeceased by a brother, Randy Lee in 1959. He loved his cats and cherished his last pet “Baby Bandit”. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, June 22nd at the First Baptist Church, 492 W. Main St., Cobleskill where a period of visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 noon to 1PM. Rev. Donald Klob will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Lincoln to the Commission of the Blind, 155 Washington Ave. Albany, NY 12210. The Robert A. Guffin Funeral Home of Cobleskill and the Langan Funeral Home of Schoharie are assisting the Hopkins family. Read More
