Larry’s Obituary Larry G. Hamilton, 80, of Granite City, IL died, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, June 8, 2019 in Edwardsville, IL. He was born on October 6, 1938 in Whittington, IL to the late Jesse and Essie nee: Burton Hamilton. Larry worked for American Steel as a reclaim operator for over 25 years until his retirement. He attended Word of Life Tabernacle in Granite City and enjoyed NASCAR and auto racing, especially the dirt track at Tri City Speedway. The loving father is survived by 2 daughters: Deanna (Jack) Rainey of Granite City, IL and Tracy (Rob) Walters of Edwardsville, IL; 3 grandchildren: Zach Walters, Maya Walters and Shelby Rainey and a brother, Gerald Hamilton of Benton, IL. Besides his parents, Larry is preceded in death by 4 brothers: Lester Hamilton, Billy Donald Hamilton, Harry Hamilton and Wendell Hamilton and a sister, Glenna Jean. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City, IL.
