Lan’s Obituary Lan Barilla, age 67, a resident of Wheaton, IL, formerly of Chicago, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 21, at home. She was born October 10, 1951 in Vietnam. Lan moved to the United States as a young adult and settled in Chicago with her husband and son. She went on to have three more children and was a loving mother. She loved gardening, sewing and knitting and later in life became a Chicago sports fan. She enjoyed taking care of children and volunteered in the church nursery and summer Bible camp. She enjoyed walking and the outdoors. She always put her family before herself. She is survived by her four children, Mark (Rachel) Barilla, missionaries to Africa, Linda (Curtis) Kneller, of Morris, IL, Steven (Heather) Barilla of Wheaton and Lisa (Huy) Doan of Brookfield, WI, and ten grandchildren, Ned, Evelyn, Joshua, Elizabeth, Nathan, Emily, Faith, Brian, Kelsey and Hannah. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 1401 S. Naperville Rd., Wheaton, IL 60189, where a funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. Memorial gifts may be directed to Bethel Presbyterian Church.
