Juanita went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the age of 94. She was a resident of Loranger and a dedicated member of Creekside Baptist Church. Juanita was faithful to God and her family always. She was a master quilter and enjoyed being a member of the Monday Morning Crafters. Juanita and her husband adored traveling around the country and the world together making lasting memories over their wonderful 70 years together. She had a beautiful and magnetic personality and never met a stranger. Juanita was loved by so many and is already deeply missed by all. She leaves behind her daughters, Sandra McConnell, Malinda Sanchez and husband Dennis, Beth Auten and husband Richard, and Rebecca Kubos and husband Harlan; son, Michael Brownwell and wife Myra; grandchildren, Michelle Hurst and husband Jeff, Shawn McConnell, Crystal McConnell Nwabude and husband Martins, Athena Dawn Brownwell, Michelle Pope and husband DeJuan, Clay Busha, Kevin Benavidez, Cody Matthew Brownwell, Aaron Sanchez and wife Michelle, Brandon Sanchez and wife Tiffany, Jacob Smith, Adam Smith and wife Kayla, Sam smith and James Brownwell; numerous great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. Juanita is preceded in death by her adoring husband of 70 years, J.C. Brownwell Jr; parents, Ollie and Robert Purnell; son, Thomas Matthew Brownwell; granddaughter, Rhea Christina Brownwell; grandson, Edwin Taylor; sisters, Anne McMillan and Mary Moody. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Mrs. Sara Morgan will officiate and interment will follow in Loranger Cemetery.
