Obituary Joseph Eugene Sill, Jr. passed away on June 19, 2019 at Scott and White hospital in Temple, Texas. Joe was born in Boerne, TX, on March 25, 1931. He was the youngest child of six; born to Joseph and Erna Richter Sill. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Hope Angela Ammann Sill; his grandson, Joseph Eugene Sill, IV; and siblings, Ruth Harold, Margarete, Walter, and William. Joe is survived by his children Joseph Sill, III; Jeffrey Sill; John Sill and his wife Angela; daughter Janie Schick and her husband, Kurt Schick; grand-children Samantha and her husband Julian Estopier; Tiffany Sill; Katlyn Rivas and her husband Ren Rivas; Shelby Fowler and her husband Sean; Ana Sill; Rachel Schick; Kyle Schick; Garrett Sill; Caleb Ball; and five great grand-children. Joe served overseas during the Korean War and then returned home to start a family with his wife, Hope. The couple were members of St Helena’s Episcopal Church in Boerne. Joe was involved in the Masonic Lodge and Shriners. He dressed up as a clown in many parades representing the Shriners. After his wife passed, Joe was reunited with his high school girlfriend, Ruth Owsley and they were fortunate to spend many happy years together. Joe worked the majority of his life selling insurance and owned his own insurance agency in San Antonio. After retiring, he enjoyed loving relationships with his children, grandchildren and friends. He will be dearly missed by them. He had a great sense of humor and a great deal of charm. He was loved by most people that knew him. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on Thursday, June 27 at 10am at St. Helena’s Episcopal Church in Boerne, Texas.
