Mr. John Wayne Lucas, 81, of Clinton formerly of Dunn died Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at his home. John Wayne was born November 6, 1937 in Harnett County son of the late John Joel and Maggie Parker Lucas. He also was preceded in death by brothers, Billy, Bruce, M.T. “Miles Tracy” Lucas; sisters, Qumine Haywood and Tinnie Trainer. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ronnie Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery. John Wayne is survived by his sons, Jonathan Herring and wife Shannon of Clinton, Lewis Herring of Clinton; several step-sons; grandson; Jonathan Herring, granddaughters; Nettie and Emma Herring; great grandson, Axl Leftwich; and brother, William Randy Lucas of Dunn. The family will receive friends 1:30 – 3 P.M. Saturday at the Funeral Home prior to the service.
