Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. John H. Fisher III, age 72, formerly of Greenville, Mississippi, who passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2019, at his sister and niece’s home in Jefferson, Georgia. He was the son of the late John H. Fisher Jr., of Tahoka, Texas and the late Novella Corona of Houston, Texas. He was a graduate of the University of Houston. Mr. Fisher retired from Industrial Dynamics, Redondo Beach, California in 2005 as Production Line Supervisor and moved to Columbia, Mississippi. He served in the United Sates Army during the Vietnam War with the 82ndAirborne Division, 173rdBrigade, 17thCalvary, where he received two Purple Hearts. Mr. Fisher is survived by two sisters, Ruby Huggins of Jefferson, Georgia and Pat Braden of San Angelo, Texas, nephews, James Huggins of Woodstock, Miller Huggins of Elkton, Maryland, Thomas Glisson of San Angelo, Texas, Paul Glisson of Austin, Texas, niece, Laura Larsen of Jefferson, Georgia, 5 great-nieces and two great nephews also survive.
