Mr. Joel T. Goddard, 89, of Ridge Road, Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at his home. Born on December 8, 1929 in Atlanta GA, he was the son of the late J.B. Goddard and Lorene Underwood Goddard. Mr. Goddard was a retired manager for Ingles and a member of the Hartwell Church of God. He also was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean War. Survivors include two daughters: Sheila Adams (Mike) and Jan Carey all of Hartwell; two brothers: Jack Goddard of FL, Jerry Goddard of Lilburn GA; raised in the home: Thomas Goddard of Hartwell; three grandchildren: Tanya Wilson, Brittany Sanders, Amber Belanger and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Goddard was preceded in death by his wife: Virginia Partain Goddard; one son: Jeff Goddard, one granddaughter: Niki Ankerich and one brother: Jimmy Goddard. Mr. Goddard is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the service. Other times the family will be at their respective homes. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Wayne Durden and Rev. Lonnie Bennett officiating. Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
