Joe Hernandez June 09, 1957 – May 20, 2019

Joe Hernandez, 61, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 20th, 2019. He was the oldest of 5 children. He grew up in Santa Clara, California and resided in Gilroy, to which he considered himself a “Gilroy-ian”. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Vivian, children, Lisa & Javier, Leslie; grandchildren, Nathan, Angelyne, Xavier and Sofia, his bumblebee, and fur children, Ozzy, Cinnamon and Fin. He worked at GM Nameplate for over 30+ years as an Area One Manager, where he was nicknamed by colleagues, Chief LoveCorn, due to his love for the snack food, cornnuts. There was not one person who Joe did not share his infectious welcoming smile and loving heart. He had a passion for music, gardening, making jewelry, a thirst for adventure and enjoyed being around his family. His family was world. A visitation will begin 11:00am, Friday, May 24, 2019 followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm both at Habing Family Funeral Home.
