Joan’s Obituary Joan Catherine Foley (nee Enge) passed away May 26, 2019. She was Born on July 17, 1932 and grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. She lived in Maryland until after the death of her husband, John J. Foley, III in 2007. At that time, she moved to Florida and has since resided on Anastasia Island in St. Augustine, Fl. Joan had a varied career which included private secretary, realtor and administrative assistant to the dean of the school of nursing at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. In St. Augustine, she was on the guild and an active volunteer in the theatre. Limelight Theatre, Emma concerts and First Coast Opera. She was the founder and organizer of the B7B (bereavement &Beyond) Social Group which she began in 2010. Joan considers the many members as “her Florida family”! Joan is the beloved wife of The Late John J. Foley, III; devoted mother of Diana Lee Filbert and her husband Alvin J. Filbert, Thomas E. Hughes, Jr., Sharon Joan McLaughlin, Katherine Angela Brune and her husband James D. Brune.; loving step-mother of Jonathan B. Carroll; dear sister of Robert J. Enge. Also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her parents Catherine and Charles Enge, a sister Charlotte M. Lapka, First husband and father of her children Thomas E. Hughes, Sr. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday June 5, 2019 at 12:15 PM at St. Margaret Catholic Church (141 N.
