Jean’s Obituary Jean M. Taylor, 92, of Port Byron, Illinois, died Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 28th at the Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron. Visitation will for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Point Cemetery, Port Byron. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center. Jean was born December 6, 1926 in Coe Township, rural Rock Island County, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Maude (Smith) Mose. She married Clifford B. Taylor on April 21, 1946 in Florida. Jean owned and operated Country Gardens for 15 years. She later worked with Trinity Home Care. She was a member of Fairfield Methodist Church, Port Byron. She enjoyed animals, flower arranging and crafting. Jean is survived by her children, Jim (Jan) Taylor, Lynn Center, IL, Linda (Jeff) Young, Moline, Cathy Frits, Silvis, Diana (Ken) Hoff, Louisville, KY; son-in-law, Dan Simmon; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; daughter, Jane Simmon; brother, Glenn Mose; sister, Evelyn Johnson; and son-in-law, David Frits.
