Janita’s Obituary Janita Akers, 66, of Scottsburg, IN passed away at 12:23 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at The Waters of Scottsburg. Born July 18, 1952 in Scottsburg, IN, she was the daughter of James and Bessie (Smith) Akers, who are both deceased. Janita worked all of her life and was talented at everything she pursued. She was of Baptist faith and loved reading her bible. She also enjoyed dancing, being with her family & friends, and attending family cookouts. She was very fond of her two dogs, Gidget and Sweat Pea. Survivors include 2 children, Carolyn (Dennis Bannister) Parks of Scottsburg, IN. and Kenneth (Samantha) Parks of Scottsburg, IN, 3 siblings, Sherry Colwell of Scottsburg, IN, Josie (Ronnie) Sawyer of Crothersville, IN, Paul (Diana) Akers of Sand Springs, OK. She was preceded in death by husbands, Elijah Parks & James Pennington, siblings, Billy Akers, Wanda Grigsby, Joyce Plessinger, Garry Akers, James Akers, Debbie Ousley, Clara Campbell, and Charley Akers. Pastor Glenda Murphy will conduct funeral services at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 1, 2019 with visitation from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Monday, all at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 138 Westavia Blvd., Scottsburg, IN 47170 and burial will follow at Cana Cemetery in Paris Crossing, IN.
