James Stanley Routch, 84, Hollidaysburg, died Friday at The Winds at Mattern Orchard. He was born in Hastings, son of the late Elmer and Olive (Trimble) Routch. He married J. Carolyn Routch on December 26, 1959, and she preceded him in death July 11, 2008. Surviving are three sons: James of Hollidaysburg, David and wife, Dawn, and Michael and wife, Shari, all of Duncansville; four grandchildren: Emily, Kendall, Sydney and Katelyn; and a brother, Wendell, 89, of Hastings. He was preceded in death by four brothers: William Valgene, Edson, Samuel and Donald; and a sister, Betty. James graduated from Dickinson College and received his Juris Doctor degree from Dickinson School of Law. He was a former partner with Evey, Routch, Black, Dorezas, Magee & Levine, a former assistant-solicitor for Blair County and he retired thereafter as in-house counsel for the Altoona Regional Health System. He attended First United Methodist Church of Hollidaysburg. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Sorge Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., Hollidaysburg. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The UPMC Altoona Foundation, 620 Howard Ave., Altoona, PA 16601-4899. sorgefuneralhome.com
