James Leonard Husebo January 30, 1931 – June 1, 2019 Mr. James Leonard Husebo, age 88, a resident of 6573 Clark’s Neck Road, Washington, NC died, unexpectedly, Saturday June 1, 2019 at the Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington, NC. A memorial service is planned for Saturday July 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church and will be officiated by Pastor Judy Tavela. Mr. Husebo was born in Omaha, Nebraska on January 30, 1931. He was the son of the late Joel Husebo and Mary Cecelia Kavanagh. Mr. Husebo worked for the Metropolitan Utilities District in Omaha for 44 years and was a long-time active member of the Shriners. Mr. Husebo also served our nation as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was very active in our community of Washington, noth through his church and other service organizations. He always had a welcoming smile, a great sense of humor and will be truly missed. Surviving is his daughter, Jacqueline Christoph and her spouse John, and their two children, Jeffrey and Kara Christoph, of Omaha, Nebraska; and a son, James (Jimmy) Husebo, and his spouse, Cynthia, and their two children, James Jr., and Danielle Husebo of Chino, California. In addition to his wife Judith Husebo, and his parents, Mr. Husebo was preceded in death by his two brothers, Joel and Jack Husebo.
