Ida’s Obituary Mrs. Ida Mae Holmes age 78 of Old River Rd. Blvd Blairsville passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday June 6, 2019 following an extended illness. Mrs. Holmes was born on August 19, 1940 in Levittburg, OH., the daughter of the late Edward Duncan and the late Mildred Ink Duncan. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved antiques, her cats and spending time with her family and friends. She had been employed with Union General Hospital for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents and also a brother, Gary Duncan. Mrs. Holmes was of the Presbyterian faith. Surviving Mrs. Holmes are her loving husband and best friend of sixty two years, Ardell K. Holmes of Blairsville, two sons and daughters in law, Randall and Pat Holmes of Orlando, FL., Richard and Kelly Holmes of Thomasville, GA., one brother, David Duncan of Ashland, OH., three grandchildren, Daniel, Jacob and Annabella, one great grandchild, Hunter, several nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive. No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the National Alzheimer’s Foundation in Mrs. Holmes memory.
