Henry L. “Buddy” Bains January 22, 1927 – June 22, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Henry L. “Buddy” Bains, 92, of Bessemer, AL passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019. He was a member of The Baptist Church at McAdory. Buddy retired from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department with 27 years of service. Buddy was a WWII veteran of the US Navy. He was a loving husband, devoted father and proud granddaddy. Buddy is survived by his wife of 71 years, Nelda G. Bains; his sons, Joseph (Kathy) Bains and Stephen (Cythera) Bains; his grandchildren, David G. (Emily), Matthew (Robyn), Adam (Kate), Andrew (Vicki), Susanna Bains and Elizabeth (Stephen) Bynum; and five great grandchildren. Graveside service will be Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Bro Bill McCall will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home.
