Helen Margaret Wait, 98, of Paw Paw, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at her home. She was born July 20, 1920 in Bloomingdale, the daughter of the late Harry Niles and Addieline Rose (Wilkinson) Niles. Helen was active with the local election board for many years, she was self employed as a seamstress and drapery maker. She took pride in her work and even made clothing for family. Helen was very active with her children, she attended school field trips and arranged the annual family vacation, there were many road trips around the United States. Earlier in life, Helen worked as a telephone operator and traveled around the country with her husband after he was drafted. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol (Anders) Bergh of Kalamazoo and Linda (Charles) Felcyn of Paw Paw, son, David (Penny) Wait of Paw Paw, seven grandchildren, Erik Bergh, Emilie (Daniel) Smith, Scott Felcyn, Brad (Kaitlyn) Felcyn, Matthew (Jordanne) Wait, Ryan (Samantha) Wait, Alex Wait and Ethan Wait; four Great-Grandchildren, Aalana, Reid, Lilliana and Berlynn; along with her caregivers, Mary Volenski and Helena VanAntwerp. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wait. Private interment for Helen will be held at a later date at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
