Overy, Hazel, of Cedar Hill, Missouri, was born in 1926, in Sappington, Missouri to William and Martha (nee Mertz) Spitz and entered into rest Wednesday, June 19, 2019 in Cedar Hill, Missouri at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 7 days. She is preceded in death by, her parents, her husband, Fred Overy, her daughter Jane Overy-Burgett and her six (6) siblings, Clay Spitz, Milton Spitz, Ethyl Bishop, William Spitz, Rosie Seemeyer and Ralph Spitz. She is survived by, two (2) children, Craig (Christie) Overy, Randy Overy, eight (8) grandchildren, Eric Parrish, James Turner, Jody (Anthony) Alt, Gabe Overy, Laura Turner, Brendan Overy, Adam Overy and Allison Overy, fifteen (15) nieces, great-grandchildren, along with many other family and friends. Hazel was born on Spitz Lane and grew up on the family farm now know as Crestwood. She grew up during the depression but said they were never hungry. Her first job was as a switchboard operator for South Western Bell. She later became a bookkeeper. Hazel adored her children and grandchildren. She was always an active woman that loved to swing dance with her husband. She was an amazing roller skater and enjoyed skating with her children. She played softball, was an avid organic gardener, and loved to feed the birds. Hazel spent her quite moments reading and doing crossword puzzles. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation Monday, June 24, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri. Service Tuesday, June 25, 2019 10:00 a.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri with the interment to follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
