NORTH HAVEN – Harriet E. Pendleton, 90, died peacefully at Southern Harbor Elder Care, Saturday June 15, 2019. Born on North Haven, August 2, 1928, Harriet was the daughter of Clarence and Lena Burgess Stone. She was educated on the island, graduating from North Haven High School. On September 5, 1950 Harriet married Daniel Pendleton on North Haven. Together they raised two children and made their home on the island their entire married life. Mr. Pendleton passed away in 1995. A devoted wife and mother, Harriet spent countless hours caring for the needs of her family. She was an active member of the North Haven Baptist Church, the Ladies Guild and the American Legion Auxiliary. Harriet will be sadly missed by all who loved her. Predeceased by her husband; a sister Eleanor Jackson; and her son James ‘Chip’ Pendleton in May of this year; Harriet is survived by her daughter Julie Brown and her companion Mark Smith of Casco; her grandson Stanley Brown and his wife Sara of Durham; a great-grandchild Maewyn Brown; two sisters, Leona Clapper and her husband Charlie of Bucksport, Marjorie Pendleton and her husband James; as well as several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 29, 2019, at North Haven Baptist Church. The Rev. David Macy will officiate. Interment will follow in Fuller Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, Rockland. Read Less
