Lester, Harold Lee, 91, of Christiansburg went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2019. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Lester; his father, mother and step father, Leslie Lester, Ora Lester Higgs and Henry Higgs; and a daughter, Joanie Turman. He is survived by daughters, Carolyn Akers and husband, Don, and Kathy Thompson and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Tracy and Ricky Trump, Donald (Bubby) Akers, Anthony and Rebekah Gennosa, and Lori and Brian McGuire; great grandchildren, Tayt Trump, Christopher and Hunter Gennosa, Josh McGuire, and Haley Ward; great great grandchild, Willow Shae Ward. The family would like to give thanks to the staffs at Davita Dialysis and Carilion Hospice; also caregivers, Sharon Oliver and Melissa Sweeney. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 24 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 with Revs. Michael T. Bond and Mark Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church or Christiansburg Rescue Squad.
