Harold “Harry” Kanall of Tileston Rd., Winthrop passed away at The Meadows at Edgewood in North Andover on June 10, 2019. He was 93 years old. Born in Boston he was the beloved son of the late Agnes (Kelly) and Paul T. Kanall. A longtime resident of Winthrop he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during WWII where he served as a mechanic reaching the rank of corporal. After his honorable discharge he went on to become a firefighter for the Winthrop Fire Department. He along with his brother were the co-owners of the Band Box Lounge in Kenmore Square. He was the devoted husband of the late Ellen G. (Toomey) and the loving father of Marion Kanall of Brighton, Nancy Smith and her husband Thorne of Peabody and Paula LaMonica and her husband Joseph of Peabody. Dear brother of the late Marion Eident, Theodore Kanall and James Kanall. Cherished grandfather of Danielle Taylor and her husband Edwin of Pelham, New Hampshire and Lauren and Andrea both of Peabody. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 8:30 to 10:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with the interment in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery.
