GLADYS’ Obituary Gladys Blakemore, age 88 passed away on Tuesday June 11th 2019 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, TX. She was born May 30, 1931 in Bunkie Louisiana to Helen Wade and Luscious Myer. As a young adult she moved to Texas and married Thomas Henry Moton. They had a son Thomas Moton and daughter Delores Moton together. She worked for St. Joseph hospital in downtown Houston for over 20 years and was a proud member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She later remarried Louis Blakemore a WWII vet and moved to the Kennedy Heights subdivision in Southeast Houston during the 1970s. She had four grandchildren, three of them she help raise herself in her Kennedy Heights home when they needed her the most. She was known for her sharp memory, quick wit, and unquestionable admiration for her grandchildren. If you stepped into her home, you never left without her offering you food and beverage. She will forever be remembered for her love of family and ensuring they were in good health. She is preceded in death by her Husband Louis Blakemore, Father Lucious Myer, Mother Helen Wade, Son Thomas Moton Jr. She is survived by her brother William Rogers, daughter Delores Johnson, four grandchild and multiple great-grandchildren. The funeral procession will take place Wednesday June 19, 2019 at Bill Clair Family Mortuary 11am-1pm. We invite all who knew her to come and pay their respects to this beloved grandmother.
