Obituary for Geraldine S. “Jerri” White Canfield – Geraldine Sophie White (Age 86), a longtime member of the Canfield community went to be in the eternal presence of the Lord with her beloved husband, John, on the 21st of June, 2019 at her home. Jerri passed peacefully surrounded by her family, her cat Smokey, and her dog Peaches. Born on August 4th 1932 in Flint Michigan, Jerri completed her high school degree and attended General Motors Institute in Flint for two years, working as an executive secretary. Jerri continued to explore different career paths, including advanced sewing classes in Oregon and entering the bridal industry as a seamstress and wedding planner. While Jerri enjoyed her working life, being a mother and homemaker was Jerri’s true passion. Jerri was the beloved wife to John White and mother to seven children – John (Sheryl), Jim (Darlene), Jeff (Paula), Joe (Donna), Janet (Bob), Judy (Bill), and Jennifer (Allan). Jerri provided for her family, raising her children in a loving and caring environment and she continued with her 17 grandchildren, Brittney, Allyssa, Celine, Katrina, Bobby, Erica, Jeffrey, Gabrielle, Lilianna, Sarah, Steven, Jack, Luke, Allison, Katherine, Rebecca, Alan and 2 great grandchildren, Nora and Ella, with the same intense love and care even in her later years, leaving them with valuable lessons and later years enjoyed playing cards, mahjong, baking and bible study. Jerri was preceded in death by her loving husband, John. Jerri was a true woman of faith, attending Old North Church regularly. Her kind and uplifting spirit was seen through her impact on her church family and her impact on her immediate family. She was always a caring and supportive woman. All who knew Jerri can attest to the qualities of her giving and compassionate heart. Jerri’s spirit was felt by all. Her spirit will continue to remain, guiding her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in all their endeavors and challenges. Family and friends can call on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Old North Church in Canfield and a memorial service will be held immediately after at 11:00 a.m. The family requests that any monetary donations be made to Community Hospice of Salem, Ohio or Old North Church, Canfield Ohio.
