Surrounded by her family, Georgette (St. Onge) Michaud of Hudson, NH gained her wings and peacefully returned to Heaven on Monday, June 24, 2019 while under the care of Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was 81 years old. Georgette was born on May 3, 1938 in Edmunston, New Brunswick, Canada, to the late Albert and Jeanne (Dufour) St. Onge. She moved to the United States 49 years ago and was a resident of Methuen, Lawrence and Salem, NH, before moving to Hudson. Georgette worked at Lawrence Maid Footwear in Lawrence, then later as a waitress for Friendly’s Restaurant/Ice Cream. The most important thing in “Memere’s” life was her family – her love for them was immense and she enjoyed holidays and get-togethers with each of them. She had a colorful personality and a zest for life. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting afghans, pichous (baby booties), socks, mittens, hats, baby outfits and blankets, etc. for family members and friends. She also had an incredible talent of crocheting personalized afghans, whether it be Harley Davidson, Red Sox, Elvis Presley, New England Patriots, etc. – gorgeous, priceless gifts she made for EVERY one of her children and grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Leonide, who passed away in 1999, Georgette is survived by and will be sadly missed by her 6 children: Jocelyne and her husband Gaston Raymond of Hudson, NH, Nicole and her husband Hermel of Methuen, MA, Serge and his wife France (Labrie) of Hudson, NH, Denise Michaud of Hampton, NH, Gratien and his wife Nanci (Bergeron) of Lawrence, MA and Sandra and her husband Donald Goulet of Lawrence, MA. Additionally she leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings O’Neil St. Onge of CT; Geraldine Leveque of ME; Rinette Couturier of CT and Bernadette Grandmaison of Canada and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Georgette was also predeceased by 2 sons, Rodrigue and Donald, both who died in 1967, sister Dolores Plourde who died in 2009 and sister Yvette Thomas who passed away in October, 2018. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to calling hours Friday, June 28, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 11:00am in St. Monica’s Church, Lawrence Street, Methuen. Everyone, please meet at church. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
