Enrique P. Nunez, 73, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019 in University Medical Center, Newark, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ on Monday, June 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny. Mr. Nunez was born in Valparaiso, Chile and immigrated to the United States in 1970. He has lived in Kearny since 1971. He was a baker at Pechter’s Baking Company in Harrison, NJ since 1972 and retired in 2006. Enrique was a member of Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers & Grain Millers, Local 53 in Rutherford, NJ. He is survived by his wife, Angela (nee Esparza) Nunez; two children, Pamela Kufferman and her husband, Brian and Rodrigo Nunez and his wife, Brenda; three brothers, Oswaldo Nunez, Luis Nunez, and Jorge Nunez; two sisters, Nellie Nunez and Margarita Carmona. He was the grandfather of Anthony, Arianna and Brayden. Enrique was predeceased by his son, Jamie Nunez in 2017.
