Elizabeth Ann Allen (nee Kelley), age 65, of Elyria, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born on April 6, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio and has been a resident of Elyria for the past 48 years, moving from Ironton, Ohio. She worked as a home care nurse in nursing homes for many years. Elizabeth was an avid collector of Hot Wheels toy cars, and enjoyed real hot rods even more, owning her own ’29 Model A Street Rod, which she wasn’t afraid to put to task! She also loved going to fairs and cherished spending time with her three granddaughters. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Kenneth “Kenny” Allen; son Brian Allen of Elyria; daughter Kelly (Rob) Bennett of Murfreesboro, TN; granddaughters Kaylee, Alisha and Anna-Brooke Bennett; siblings John Erwin, Rita Huff, Leroy Brown, James Brown and Barbie Brown; many nieces and nephews; dear friend and fellow Hot Wheels collector Morris “Tiny” Johnson. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son Scotty Allen; parents Charles Kelley and Bertha Brown; siblings Judy Martin, Jewell Erwin, Debbie Brown, David Brown and Willard Erwin Jr. A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be announced at a later date.
