He was born on October 11, 1928 to Adolph & Emilie Balusek Woytek in Lavaca County, TX. He married Lillie Chaloupka on May 14, 1957 in Moravia, TX. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Edward served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954, as a Corporal in the United States Army Reserve. He worked at the Texas Highway Department for 36 years. He enjoyed farming, fishing, dominoes and morning coffee with his buddies. He also repaired lawnmowers as a hobby. Edward is survived by: 2 sons, Frank Woytek, and Harold Woytek & wife Beverly; 4 daughters, Janet Mayo & husband Greg, Shirley Bonewald & husband Gary, Frances Woytek, and Joyce Farley & husband Brad; 8 grandchildren, Dustin Mayo & wife Nicole, Mark Mayo & wife Sarah, Krystal Woytek, Devin Woytek, Bradley Bonewald, Brenda Bonewald, Cody Farley, and Cheyenne Farley; 3 great grandchildren, Treyor, Valerie and Ellioit Mayo; and sister Evelyn Holy. Edward was preceded in death by his wife Lillie and parents. Funeral Service: 10 am, Thursday, April 25, 2019, at Kubena Funeral Home. Visitation: 5 pm, Wednesday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiant: Mr. Albert Janak. Memorials: Lavaca County Senior Citizens Food Program or Donor’s Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Hallettsville, TX.
