Ed, known for his wit and well-timed jokes, made sure that the mountains were always blue while surrounded by his loving family and the company of his good friends out on the pontoon. Ed was a proud member of Fraternal Organization of Eagles Aeries of Cobleskill #2695. He was predeceased his son, David Empie. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie (Bascomb) Elsensohn, whom he married on December 10, 1994; his children: Shannon Sylvester of Cobleskill, Jeremy (Angela) Clapper of Cobleskill, Diedra Lewis of Cobleskill, and Mylea Empie of Cobleskill, NY, two sisters: Gail White of Beaumont, TX, and Yvonne (Charles) DePrez of Dallas, TX; his grandchildren: Ava Markle, Dalton and Larson Clapper, Lauren and Devin Lewis, Jamie Gray, Hailey Andrejcak and Brittany (Michael) Cushman; and Great-Granddaughter, Claire Cushman; and several nieces and nephews.
