Drew A. McGinnis 71, of Tavares, passed away on June 17, 2019. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut and moved here from El Paso, Texas in 2001. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War, a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, a retired maintenance worker in the petroleum industry and worked for 10 years at Brookdale Assisted Living in Tavares. Drew is survived by his wife Melissa, his sons, Justin Read McGinnis (Melanie) and Shawn Allan McGinnis both of Warsaw, Indiana, his step children, Bryan Masters (Roxanne) U.S.A.F. stationed in Wichita, Kansas and Lauren Masters of Tavares, his grandchildren, Alexis Ray, Jayden McGinnis, Paisleigh Masters, Grant McGinnis, Juliana McGinnis and Gavin McGinnis and his brother, Charles McGinnis of Crested Butte, Colorado. There will be a Gathering in Drew’s memory on Friday, June 21st in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel from 4 until 6 PM. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Drew A.
