Douglas Raye Jones June 22 2019

June 22 2019
Douglas Raye Jones, 62, of Conneaut, Ohio passed away at his home Wednesday June 12, 2019 in Lake Wales, FL. He was born to Leon L. Jones and Ida Rae (Clark) Jones. Doug was a traveler in his youth and found home in FL in the 70’s. He had a heart for animals, driving semi-trucks, wrestling, racing (NASCAR especially) and riding motorcycles. He worked until his health declined rapidly in 2007. And anyone who knew Doug knew he was stubborn and beat the odds the doctors gave him. When Doug was out in public he would be referred to as the guy from ZZ Top in the 80’s and 90’s, and then the guy from Duck Dynasty in the 00’s. Doug is survived by his wife Dorothy Hawkins of Greenback, TN; two daughters Misty (Hawkins) Towns of Auburndale, FL. and Kristel-Starr (Hawkins) Armaiz of Knoxville, TN., along with three grandsons; Devon, Dommanick, and John and a granddaughter Kinsley. Doug is preceded in death by his parents and a brother David L. Jones on February 22nd of 2019. Burial will be in East Conneaut Cemetery in Conneaut, Ohio and laid to rest among his parents, on July 1, 2019 at 10AM. Arrangements entrusted to Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut. Please sign the guestbook at www.marcyfuneralhome.com
