Dorothy Schwartz of Salem, Missouri passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the SevilleCareCenter in Salem, Missouri at the age of 84. Dorothy was born on October 3, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Columbus and Matilda (Mogel) Brooks . Dorothy was united in marriage to Frankie Schwartz on February 11, 1955 and this union was blessed with five children. Frankie and Dorothy enjoyed 64 years of marriage. She moved from St. Louis when she was 12 years old and attended Summersville School. Dorothy attended CalvaryTemple and loved to study her Bible. She enjoyed traveling and wherever they went shopping was a must. Dorothy worked side by side with Frankie at the family salvage business, from making deposits, cutting brush, working in the office, and helping the customers. . Her family was her pride and joy. Dorothy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Dorothy is survived by her children, Jamie and wife Shirley, of Salem, MO, Cora Dotson and husband Jim, of Salem, MO, and Laura Furmanick and husband Rich, of State of New Hampshire; grandchildren, Terre Sue Schwartz, Nikki Larson, Matthew Schwartz, Stephanie Mansell, Rhonda Wofford, and Nicholas Schwartz; a host of great grandchildren, extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sons, Tom Schwartz and Danny Schwartz; sister, Doris Sutterfield; two brothers, CletusBrooks and Albert Brooks. Funeral services for Dorothy Schwartz will be at 2:00PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Salem Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Lyndell Decker Officiating. Internment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Salem with Walter Acord, Matthew Schwartz, Austin Larson, Cody Wofford, Jaden Schwartz, and Christopher Schwartz serving as pallbearers. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Chapel on Monday, June 24, 2019 from 5-7PM.
