Doris’ Obituary Doris Ann Conrad, 80, died Sunday June 9, 2019 in Lubbock, TX. Graveside services will be at 10 am, Saturday June 15, 2019, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, TX officiated by Rev. Phil Ray of St. James Episcopal Church followed by a memorial service at St. James. Arrangements provided by Horizon Funeral Home. Mrs. Conrad was born September 29, 1938 to Leldon and Pauline (Stewart) White and was raised in Dalhart. She graduated from Dalhart High School in 1955. Doris served in the Civil Air Patrol in 1954 and worked as a bookkeeper at the sale barn. It was at the sale barn that she met her husband, Jack Conrad; the two married in Cripple Creek, CO in 1971. Doris was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church and served as a member and Director of the altar guild for a number of years. She loved gardening and was an avid crossword puzzle solver and was a beautiful person inside and out. She is preceded in death by both her parents, her daughter, Charlotte (Willis) McCarthy, and her husband. Doris is survived by her two sons – Mark Willis & his wife, Barb of Kenai, AK and Mike Willis of Dalhart, TX, and her 3 granddaughters and their children – Misty Hay & her husband, Lenny of Eden, Wyoming – their children Korbyn, Kirklin, Kamrie and Shelby Arambel; Rebecca Maloney & her husband Jack of Lubbock, TX and their children Luke, Charlotte, Claire, Thomas and Catherine; Amanda Martin & her husband Tyler and their children Jaxson, Brinley, Brooke and Paige.
