Doris Abshire went to be with the lord on June 11, 2019 at the age of 85. She was born February 9, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Eldon Leonard Abshire. Beloved mother of Wanda, Patricia (Sis), Beverly, Alan, Darren, Junior and Kimberly. Proud grandmother of Terri, Robin, Angela, Robert, Lisa, Amber, Laci, Jacob, Jeffrey, Shandel, Dustin, Brandi, Trey, Grady, Maranda, Kattie and Lindsey. And great grandmother of more than twenty great grand babies. Doris will be fondly remembered for her servant’s heart and nurturing spirit. She was renowned for her cooking and baking skills, there was always something coming out of the oven or on the stove top. She put others needs before her own, always, and she made sure no one left her home without a full belly. She could also go out and work the garden or tend to the animals with the best of them. She was something else. And the story goes on until we see our beloved, Mother, Mamaw, Nannie or Doris again. Graveside service will be held at Bethany Rest Cemetery in Alvarado, Texas Friday June 14, 2019 at 11:00 am.
