Doloris’ Obituary Doloris Marie (Bokemper) McGuire, 90, of Pender, NE, entered heaven on Friday, June 7, 2019 in Omaha, NE. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Church of Pender; Pastor Daniel Springer will be officiating. The visitation will be Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the United Church of Pender. The burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery in Wakefield, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. Doloris was born March 19, 1929, one of thirteen children to Benjamin and Viney (Strivens) Bokemper. Her family grew up near Emerson and she attended school through the eighth grade. As a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin, there wasn’t anything more important to her than family. She was the strength of the family. When Doloris was 12, she left school to take up cleaning homes and caring for children to help earn money for the family. In 1948, she met the love of her life, Eldon McGuire. They took each other’s hand in marriage on February 6, 1951 and began their life as farmers, farming northwest of Pender and raising their three girls. Along with farming, Doloris spent many hours doing what she enjoyed most, growing her garden. She was survived by her daughters, Patricia Sutton, Barbara Brondum, Paula Koehler; sisters, Maxine Peters, Shirley Carder, JoAnn (Edwin) Flamang, Bonnie (William) Steecker; sisters-in-law, Sandra Bokemper, Diane Bokemper; brother-in-law Larry Lorenson; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Doloris was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon McGuire; father, Benjamin Bokemper; mother, Viney Barge; sons-in-law, Jeffrey Koehler and Thomas Sutton; siblings, Virginia (Albert) Jepson, Lois (Eugene) Mackling, Carl (Sucoria) Bokemper, Myron Bokemper, Anton Bokemper, Billy Bokemper, Diane Lorenson, Linda Bokemper; brothers-in-law, LeRoy Peters and Charles Wesley Carder.
