The family will greet friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2019 at Bishop Chapel of Memories in McAlester. He was born in Elsie, Michigan to Ralph and Gladys (Craven) Herron on June 3, 1948. He leaves many memories and friends in the area. He served in the United States Army, and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved the organization and, throughout his life, held many elected positions working to better the local post and the organization as a whole. He leaves his daughter and son-in-law: Denise and Brent Bratcher, his son and daughter-in-law, James and Brittany Herron, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and many close friends.
